North Vietnam Motorbike Tours delight all riders with the chance of riding motorbike trips through one of the three regions within Vietnam. Northern Vietnam is where the Vietnamese culture originated over 2000 years ago in the Red River Delta. The largest city in the North is Hanoi, the nation’s capital, other major cities include Hải Phòng. Northern Vietnam includes the following subregions:
Northwest (6 provinces: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Đien Bien, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Son La). This subregion is located on right bank of Hong River.
Northeast (9 provinces: Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh.)
Red River Delta (10 provinces: Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, Ha Noi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc). The Red River Delta is the flat plain formed by the Red River and its distributaries joining in the Thái Binh River in northern Vietnam. The delta measuring some 15,000 square km is well protected by a network of dikes. It is an agriculturally rich area and densely populated. Most of the land is devoted to rice cultivation.
“Northern Vietnam ” is commonly used to implying an immense part locating in the mid of the loop of North-West and the North-East, meanwhile the “Vietnam Northern Motorcycle Tours” is just a phrase implying that our motorbike trips are mostly taken place in the northern provinces such as Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and some parts of Bac Kan, Cao Bang & Ha Giang. On this route, you’ll experience riding motorbikes on weaving roads with tough curves, steep passes and deep valleys to explore splendid natural landscapes with mountains, reservoirs, villages, hilltribes…
Eight provinces together with two municipalities, the capital Hà Nội and the port Hải Phòng form the delta. It has a population of almost 19 million. The Red River Delta is the cradle of the Vietnamese nation. Water puppetry originated in the rice paddies here.
North East Motorbike Tours help you ride offroad adventure motorcycle trips through Vietnam Northeast provinces to name Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Phu Thọ, Bac Giang, and Halong Bay in Quang Ninh.Parts of Vietnam’s northeast are particularly isolated and fairly challenging to visit the remote hilltribes and stunning cliff scenery. However, this isolation adds to the region’s beauty, as many areas are still extremely undeveloped, and unadulterated by tourism – make the effort to explore this part of the country and you will be rewarded. Highlights include Ba Be Lakes in Cao Bang Province, the road between That Khe and Lang Son, whose beauty of plunging ravines riddled with caves, hides a grim and bloody past and to the north of Cao Bang, the cave in which Ho Chi Minh lived upon first returning to Vietnam from China. This region of Vietnam is also home to numerous tribes of ethnic minority groups. They live in some rather isolated areas, subsisting through traditional means. Some of the tribes in this developing trekking area include Tay, Nung, Zoa, Meo, Man and the San Chay. During the French Indochinese war, this region of Vietnam was the scene of some extremely heavy fighting, especially on the road from Lang Son to Cao Bang. The French had attempted to police cross border smuggling into China by installing a series of garrisons at That Khe, Cao Bang, Dong Khe and Lang Son. All of these bases were eventually destroyed by guerilla action, along with their supply convoys which plied Colonial Routes 3 and 4. The Viet Minh would often destroy parts of the roads partially for ambush purposes and looking at some of the roads now, especially Route 3 to Lang Son, it is debateable whether they have actually been fixed since.
North West Motorbike Tours give all riders the adventure passion of motorcycling and riding offroad trips to Vietnam Northwest provinces namely Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Son La…by dirt bike, moped, scooter. This subregion is located on right bank of Hong River. The remote northwest of Vietnam appeals to those wanting to get off the beaten track in one of Vietnam’s most beautiful, unaffected and untouristed areas. The travellers who do venture to Mai Chau, Son La and Dien Bien Phu often do so by way of a hired jeep and driver or do it by motorbike, while those striking straight north to Vietnam’s hilltribe capital of Sapa avail themselves of the comfortable and efficient overnight train to Sapa. Whichever way you’re headed, prepare yourself for stunning scenery as you pass through spectacular ravines and over breathtaking passes. Best known for the burgeoning trekking centre of Sapa, there is a lot more worth investigating in this part of the country. The remote French firebase of Dien Bien Phu remains a drawcard, but it’s as much the attraction of the trip there as the town itself that is worth visiting. A trip to Dien Bien Phu is easily combined with an approach to Sapa via “the back way” over the Fansipan pass (Vietnam’s highest), allowing for more stunning scenery and the opportunity to see some of the less touristed parts of the country. Another popular destinations is Mai Chau whose day-trekking and stunning scenery have helped it develop into a small tourist centre en-route to Dien Bien Phu — many trips from Hanoi run out to Mai Chau — and with good reason. It also forms a comfortable spot to rest those weary limbs before continuing onwards and up into the hills.
